Soon, Danish and foreign tourists can join an adventurous journey back to the 1850s Copenhagen - all the way to H.C. Andersen's fairytale world. A new experience museum with live actors, storytelling and authentic interactive environments, bring visitors close to the great poet and his contemporary.
World of Hans Christian Andersen is expected to open during the autumn of 2019 - exactly 200 years after, H.C. Andersen moved to Copenhagen.

What can you

expect

The experience itself is designed as an interactive fairy tale universe, that guests walk through. There will be actors who interact with the guests and leads them through scary corridors and hidden doors. The poet himselfwill also be present, and together with the guests, the framework is created for the imagination that characterizes H.C. Andersen's works, which made him world famous.

The whole experience is set to last an hour and is based on easy-to-understand English. There wil also be a café and a merchandise store with quality products with a large selection of designs, performed by both local and international artists.

As a part of the experience, guests can explore the surroundings both inside and outside of the museum. Watch how Copenhagen suddenly is turned back in time and see how buildings looked like, when H. C. Andersen lived.
Stories in the middle of Copenhagen suddenly appear in front you eyes, all connected to the fairytales. A brand new way to explore and a unique and fun tool to get knowledge of the famous author.
